Yosemite Falls Hike
Yosemite Point, Yosemite National Park, 6935 ft, 5/10/2003.
Hiked the 3000 ft vertical rise, in 3 hours from Yosemite Valley, which is about 3900 ft. Started hiking at 9 am. Arrived at top of Yosemite Falls at 12:30. Hiked another hour to Yosemite Point, losing the trail for a while and getting to a higher lookout first. Returned to Yosemite Valley Floor at 4:30 pm. Even in May, North Valley Drive was a traffic jam at 4:30 pm. Repeated this hike again 3 weeks later, when I hiked to the top of El Capitan.
| This is about 6300 ft, at the top of the double falls. Yosemite Creek starts it's fall behind me. |
