Highpoint 44. Washington DC, 429 Feet, 4/11/07.

The highpoint is in Fort Reno Park, Tenleytown, and is lower than the top of the Washington Monument. Used Highpointer's Club webpage, and Mapquest directions to 39th & Fessenden for guidance. Parking was easy. Morning rush-hour traffic into DC was incredible. Afterwards, we drove to the tidal basin to see the cherry blossoms. We continued down the Atlantic coast, including the North Carolina Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, and Savannah. |
