Massachusetts High Point Hike
Highpoint 19. Massachusetts, Mt. Greylock, 3360 ft, 8/28/03
Used Wingers' book for guidance. Zumwalt's book has a helful road map, which includes nearby peaks.
Drove almost to the top. In 2003 there is a $2 fee for parking. A self-service machine issues parking permits. The tower is striking. You can climb the inside stairs and spiral staircase to the top.
There are rest rooms at Bascom Lodge, very near the summit.
Found a benchmark about 50 feet south of the tower.
