Huaynu Picchu, Peru, about 9000 ft, 11/1999 I bought a tour package to Peru. I was the only person on the tour. Most tours last a week, and depart from Miami or Houston International Airports, landing in Lima, Peru. After 2 nights in Lima, fly to Cusco, at 11,150 ft, for 1 night. Take the train to the river valley, 1000 ft below Machu Pichu, for a 2 night stay. Reverse the process to return. Never saw so many machine guns in my life, as in Lima. Wonderful people!
