If driving from St. Louis, it is better to take US 67 that to stay on I55 all the way to Port Girardeau.

After the drive to the trail head parking lot, walked up the cement sidewalk to the granite marker and summit stone.

There are restrooms at the trailhead.
Found no benchmark. There is a marker 0.2 miles away and a marker 0,5 miles away at the Taum Sauk Lookout Tower.
